Three millwork brands, plus a custom knife shop behind the stock profiles.

Most projects pull millwork from one or two brands — usually one for paint-grade MDF profiles and one for hardwoods or specialty trim. Our shop adds the cut-to-length and pre-finishing on top, so what arrives on the truck is closer to ready-to-install than raw stock.

Metrie
North America's largest millwork manufacturer. Deep stock profile library, premium MDF lines, finish-grade options. The default for paint-grade casing and base on most projects.

Three working categories: room-trim (the volume), wall-trim (the architecture), and material upgrades (the finish move). Within each, the choice between stock and custom comes down to whether an existing house needs matching or an architect’s drawing needs hitting.

Door and window casing. Stock profiles in MDF, primed pine, and hardwood. Coordinated with door jambs when both come from the same brand. The most-quoted line on most takeoffs.

Most projects sit cleanly inside one of these. Mixing tiers is routine — production-tier base and casing with hardwood crown is a common combination on custom homes; the rep proposes the combination based on the takeoff and finish package.

Stock profiles ship within days — we keep production-tier MDF and primed pine on the floor in standard heights. Specialty profiles and pre-finished runs add a week. Stain-grade hardwoods sit at the long end of the standard band; custom knife runs run a couple weeks past that. Cut-to-length and pre-finishing add 3 – 5 days to whichever band the underlying material sits in.

Linear-foot takeoff by room and profile, or marked-up plans. We line-item it back: brand, profile, material, length, and lead time per line. Same format we’ve been quoting from since 1992.
